Quick Beer Bread

This is an easy one bowl quick bread that only take a few minutes to mix up. It's a dense bread but seems light when you eat it. I know that doesn't make sense, but that's Hubby's description and I'm going with it. The beer gives it a nice nutty taste. It's great fresh out of the oven, but just as good toasted and spread with a little honey butter. Here's what you'll need:

  • 3 cups flour ( I used bread flour but all purpose works too)
  • 4 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3 TBL sugar
  • 1 bottle of beer
  • 2 TBL butter

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.

Mix all the ingredients except the butter in a bowl, stirring until combined. You'll use the butter after the bread is baked. Pat the dough into a loaf shape and put it into a loaf pan. The dough is sticky, so if you put a little oil on your hands first it will be easier to handle. Bake for 45 minutes until the top starts to brown slightly. As soon as you take it out of the oven, spread the butter over the top.

That's it! Super easy and delicious. I served it with meatloaf, roasted potatoes, and green beans. Yummy!

Enjoy!
